Bulgaria is grappling with significant national security challenges, as the State Agency for National Security (DANS) has revealed dozens of foreign spies operating within the country and warned of dire risks to national interests. This comes as the government, led by Prime Minister Rumen Radev, continues to solidify its structure, with the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Ministers nearing completion of their political cabinet appointments.
Economically, citizens face mounting pressures with daily increases in fuel prices, an upward trend expected to continue. Member of the National Assembly Asen Vasilev has also highlighted concerns over the upcoming budget, stating that unexplained expenses will cost each Bulgarian citizen approximately 400 euros.
Other key domestic issues include an investigation into the underreporting of hospital infections, ongoing political discussions around presidential candidacies, and a series of serious road accidents, including one on the Maritsa Highway that resulted in three fatalities.
