Political scrutiny on Minister Luís Neves has intensified, with President António José Seguro expressing concerns about a potential repeat of the 'Galamba case' in relation to the Minister. This comes as the Portuguese Parliament prepares to revisit efforts to summon Luís Neves for further explanations, a move strongly advocated by the Chega party.
Adding to the political pressure, Almeida Rodrigues, a former director of the Judicial Police, has publicly rebutted criticisms from the Minister of Internal Administration. Separately, the government has unveiled new education policies, including a postponement of secondary school classes to September 21 and a new pathway for licensed graduates to become teachers.
On the economic front, Portugal's government is nearing its target of 2% GDP growth for the year, with the second semester anticipated to contribute significantly to this achievement. However, a report also highlights that half of the foreign investment in the country is currently directed towards the real estate market.
