Ukraine has endured a significant drone attack, with 133 Russian drones launched and 24 confirmed hits reported across the country. These strikes resulted in casualties and damage, including a direct hit on a Rozetka warehouse in the Kyiv region, killing one employee and injuring seven others. Kharkiv also experienced drone attacks, leaving two children and one man injured, while other regional centers were shelled.
Domestically, new mobilization rules have been implemented, impacting deferment eligibility for eight categories of Ukrainian citizens. Economists are forecasting an anticipated rise in prices for staple foods such as eggs, bread, and meat throughout August, adding to economic concerns.
On the military front, Russian forces have reportedly advanced near Kostiantynivka and Zaliznychne, though an analysis suggests Russia's overall offensive in 2026 has seen low advance rates compared to the previous year. Ukrainian forces, meanwhile, report neutralizing approximately 1500 Russian soldiers. There is also an analysis suggesting Russia has changed its tactics for mass attacks on Ukraine.
