Meanwhile, the widespread wildfires continue to devastate regions, with new critical fronts erupting in Attica, particularly in Kandili, Agio Nektario, and Kryo Pigadi. The fires, which originated in Boeotia, have now burned over 111,700 acres in the Attica-Boeotia region, entering their fourth day in Western Attica.
In response to the extensive damage, the government, led by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, has announced new support measures for affected residents, including rent subsidies of up to 500 euros and 100% compensation for damaged homes.
