Ukraine faced a new surge of Russian aggression today, with missile and drone attacks hitting 18 locations and causing power outages in five regions. The assaults resulted in civilian casualties, including two dead and eight injured at a railway station in Lozova, and three fatalities in Balakliia.
Domestically, anti-corruption efforts saw significant movement as Olha Stefanishyna, the former Ambassador to the United States, was granted bail set at 6 million Ukrainian hryvnias in a case alleging illegal enrichment and property acquisition. Separately, a former Air Force logistics commander faces charges in a corruption probe involving state funds for aircraft shelters. A new draft law also proposes fines for individuals not using the Ukrainian language.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces reported successful operations against Russian oil infrastructure, destroying two refineries and naval assets. Rumors of a military landing in Crimea prompted security forces to evacuate families, adding to the ongoing tensions.
