Kosovo's Assembly is convening today for the constitutive session of its eleventh legislature, a significant step in the nation's efforts to form a new government and elect a president. This comes after a period of political deadlock, with ongoing negotiations between the Vetëvendosje (LVV) and the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) yet to yield a definitive coalition agreement.
Leaders from both Vetëvendosje, led by caretaker Prime Minister Albin Kurti, and the LDK, headed by Lumir Abdixhiku, have confirmed that despite extensive discussions, key differences persist, and no agreement has been reached on government formation. The Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), an opposition party led by Bedri Hamza, has also stated its position remains unchanged regarding the constitutive session.
