Kosovo authorities have issued statements regarding the border fence with Albania, marking a new point of discussion between the two nations. This comes as Kosovo Customs reported a substantial increase in revenue, collecting 209.7 million euros in July 2026, an impressive 12% rise compared to the previous year.
Domestically, residents can expect planned power outages today as KEDS announced maintenance work on the electricity network across specific areas. Meanwhile, incidents of concern include the death of a minor at the University Clinical Center of Kosovo (QKUK) with suspicions of a fall in Prizren, and reports of gunfire in South Mitrovica where police found shell casings.
Internationally, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's recent statements made in Serbia have had a direct impact in Pristina, leading to the removal of a "Free Ukraine" banner displayed in solidarity. This development has prompted reactions from Ukrainian media outlets and MP Oleksiy Goncharenko, who criticized Zelenskyy's diplomatic approach regarding Kosovo, while Albania has also responded, emphasizing that Kosovo cannot be compared to Ukraine.
