Deadly Drone Attack Hits Passenger Train in Odesa Region

A passenger train in the Odesa region was struck by a Russian drone, resulting in the deaths of the train driver and his assistant, and causing damage to the train. Reports indicate over 300 passengers were on board, including children, and horrifying images have emerged from the scene. Five people were also reported injured in a separate drone attack in the Kharkiv region.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has emphasized Ukraine's urgent need for additional air defense, specifically requesting 10 American Patriot missile systems to effectively counter all of Russia's ballistic missile threats. He also announced new peace proposals. Domestically, new regulations will require Ukrainians living abroad to register for military service via consulates.
Other notable developments include the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) revising rules for compulsory fund withdrawal and identifying nearly 12 billion UAH in suspicious transactions at Ukrposhta. The head of the Zakarpattia Regional Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center was dismissed due to numerous human rights violations.
