The high-profile Yorgen Fenech murder trial entered its 44th day, with defense lawyers continuing their cross-examination of Inspector Kurt Zahra. The defense scrutinised the police's investigation into Keith Schembri, particularly the delay in searching his former office and the fact that he was never considered a murder suspect, despite allegations from Melvin Theuma, the self-confessed middleman.
In a separate development, a serious traffic accident involving a prison van and a truck on Ħal Far road in Birżebbuġa resulted in six individuals being hospitalised. Additionally, a car crash on Diċembru 13 Road in Marsa caused significant rush-hour traffic delays across the area.
