The ongoing investigation into the Kyrenia ferry sinking has seen significant new developments. Reports indicate that the vessel, Filo Jet, had serious structural damage dating back to 2016, while questions have been raised about the authenticity of the captain's license and the ferry's safety certificate. A robot is now being deployed to investigate the wreck at a depth of 514 meters, and survivors have recounted a critical shortage of life jackets. Relatives of the missing have also protested at Kyrenia port.
In other domestic news, a 21-year-old man is in critical condition following a stabbing in Nicosia, leading to two arrests in connection with the incident.
