Bosnia and Herzegovina is grappling with a severe escalation of wildfires today, prompting the deployment of army helicopters by Minister of Defence Zukan Helez to multiple affected municipalities including Bihać, Kalesija, Drvar, and Prozor-Rama. The situation has intensified significantly, with a major wildfire on Plješevica crossing the border into Croatia, and smoke from the blazes causing alarm among residents in Croatia's Dalmatian region.
Adding to the domestic concerns, requests for assistance from the Armed Forces to combat these fires have become a subject of political debate within the country. Several new traffic incidents have also been reported, including a serious accident near Cazin leaving multiple children in critical condition, and a 12-year-old child severely injured in an electric scooter and car collision in Ilidza.
On a positive note, Bosnia and Herzegovina's Pretis has secured a long-term supply of gunpowder through a new cooperation deal. The agreement was signed with the Egyptian Ministry of Military Industry, marking a constructive development in economic and industrial relations.
