Moldova is grappling with heightened security concerns following a drone attack near its border, which resulted in two fatalities and the closure of a border crossing. A drone resembling a 'Geran' type, reportedly containing explosives, was discovered in the Riscani district, prompting condemnation from Moldova's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which labeled the attacks a direct risk to national security.
On the domestic front, authorities have achieved a significant victory in anti-corruption efforts with the confiscation of eight properties, valued at nearly 10 million lei, in an abuse of office case. These assets, officially held by intermediaries, represent a crucial step in asset recovery practices.
Further government activity includes the approval of the reorganization of the state enterprise "Calea Ferată din Moldova" (Moldovan Railways) by the cabinet. Separately, the Director General of the state-owned forest enterprise Moldsilva has resigned for personal reasons.
