Anti-corruption efforts have intensified with a major police operation in Skopje, involving searches at 32 locations, including official premises of the Ministry of Interior Affairs. This development comes as citizens are increasingly bypassing the Ministry of Interior to report bribery directly to the Public Prosecutor's Office, indicating a potential shift in public trust and reporting mechanisms. The BDI party has also called for a comprehensive investigation into bribery cases, demanding scrutiny of all involved parties.
In other domestic news, two individuals on electric scooters were captured on CCTV setting fire to shops in the Shutori Orizari neighborhood of Skopje. Social issues also gained attention, with a mother accompanying her two autistic twin children to classes due to the state's failure to provide necessary assistants. Meanwhile, the opposition Social Democratic Union of Macedonia, led by Venko Filipce, has proposed raising the minimum wage to 600 Euros, arguing that current wages are insufficient for families to survive. A 'March for Freedom' is also underway in support of former KLA leaders.
