A Danish military helicopter was targeted with flares by a Russian frigate in international waters, prompting strong condemnation from Danish leaders. Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen described Russia's actions as 'aggressive and self-assertive,' while Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen also reacted to the incident. The head of the Danish Air Force highlighted the potential danger, stating, 'It could have hit someone.' Denmark has summoned its ambassador to Russia for discussions following the escalation.
In other national news, the government plans to reallocate 129 million Danish kroner from aid designated for Ukraine to other purposes. Meanwhile, new criminal investigations are underway following an explosion at a family home and the murder of a circus family matriarch. Two 16-year-olds have also been charged in connection with a fatal stabbing in Tilst.
On a positive note, Danish car owners have collectively reduced their CO2 emissions by 30 percent over the past six years, demonstrating a positive trend in environmental efforts.
