Ukraine experienced a significant escalation in Russian missile and drone attacks today, with ballistic missiles hitting Kyiv, causing two fatalities and damaging a maternity hospital and other civilian infrastructure. Widespread strikes also targeted the Kharkiv region, where six people died at a farm, and the western and Rivne regions, leading to power outages across eight oblasts.
Amidst the ongoing conflict, there was a key development in military leadership as Oleksiy Revu was appointed as the new Deputy Minister of Defense. On the battlefield, Ukrainian forces reported successful advances in three regions, thwarting enemy plans.
In other domestic news, an investigation located former Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko in Austria, following his recent resignation and reports of him not returning to work. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also warned Russia of a difficult winter if attacks do not cease, and Ukrainian negotiators met with Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner in the United States.
