Russia launched 188 drones and a barrage of missiles overnight, killing a child in Vyshhorod and a utility worker in the capital. The strikes targeted energy infrastructure, leaving parts of Kyiv and six other regions without power. Debris from the attack landed on the grounds of a Western embassy in the city's Shevchenkivskyi district.
The Ministry of Economy estimates that every hour spent under air raid sirens costs the national economy $45 million in lost business. Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi has warned of a strict austerity regime as the government looks for the funds to pay military salaries while managing a deepening budget crisis.
Separately, anti-corruption officials located a judge who had been in hiding for three years to avoid a bribery sentence. The National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office handled the operation.
