Severe weather has disrupted life across Crete, where a bridge collapse near Mylopotamos and floods in Zonianá trapped residents in their cars and homes. The civil protection service issued emergency alerts via the 112 system as authorities ordered school closures and hospitalized several people rescued from rising waters.
The government has introduced a roadmap for taxpayers to settle arrears with the tax office and the social security fund, EFKA, through a 120-installment plan. Elsewhere, the weather has reached the coast, where authorities imposed sailing bans at the ports of Rafina and Lavrio.
