Russian forces launched a new wave of drone attacks, striking a school in Kyiv's Solomianskyi district where over 100 students were safely in a shelter, and hitting a business center in Odesa. The attacks caused damage to a multi-story building, a school, and a cafe in Kyiv, leading to fires and at least one injury in Odesa. Ukraine's air defenses intercepted many of the 107 drones launched by Russia.
In response to the ongoing aerial threats, the European Union has committed €10 million for the construction of shelters across Ukraine, with plans to build hundreds of mobile bomb shelters and facilities at schools. This comes as Ukraine continues to grapple with a significant $27 billion budget deficit, seeking financial aid from the EU while Brussels emphasizes the need for reforms.
Meanwhile, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed Ukrainian defenders from the front lines. Economically, the dollar exchange rate in Ukraine is anticipated to see significant changes in October.
