Domestic violence suspect stabs ex-partner after five police reports

A severe domestic violence incident in Lavrio has drawn significant attention after a 32-year-old man, previously arrested twice for threats and reported five times by his ex-partner, allegedly attacked her and her current partner with a knife in front of their children. Both victims were hospitalized with serious injuries.

Meanwhile, Greece is experiencing ongoing severe weather, particularly in Crete, where new emergency warnings have been issued. Torrential rains caused rivers to overflow, roads to be washed away, and vehicles to be swept along in Anwgeia. Strong winds have also led to sailing bans from the ports of Piraeus, Rafina, and Lavrio.

In other news, the country has recorded its first flu death of the season, alongside 15 hospitalizations, coinciding with the introduction of new vaccines. Electricity prices for green tariffs are also expected to rise in October.
