A yellow air alert in the Vilnius and Ukmergė regions briefly grounded the capital's airport today after a potential drone incursion was detected. Fighter jets were scrambled to investigate the unidentified threat, which resulted in the temporary closure of controlled airspace before the alert was cancelled and flights were allowed to resume.
The incident coincided with a warning to the industrial sector that it has three to five years to prepare for the 'inevitable', a transition punctuated by the demise of the long-standing refrigerator brand Snaigė. Elsewhere, border guards reported turning back 32 irregular migrants at the border with Belarus.
The news was not entirely precarious. The domestic energy sector reached one gigawatt of storage capacity, and the women’s basketball league opened its season with 25 teams. In the media market, 15min has overtaken Delfi to become the most-read news portal in the country.
