The Kosovo government has officially approved the draft law concerning the Special Court, determining there are no legal impediments to its advancement, and has forwarded the decision to the Assembly for further action. This move marks a significant procedural step in the ongoing efforts to amend the law related to the Special Court.
Following the government's decision, the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) has swiftly requested an extraordinary session of the Assembly to be held today, urging an immediate commencement of the voting procedure for the Special Court law in two readings.
In other political developments, a two-hour meeting between Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) leader Bedri Hamza concluded, with the opposition leader leaving the government building without addressing the press. Meanwhile, new reports claim French President Emmanuel Macron was allegedly aware of former President Hashim Thaçi's indictment six days prior to its public announcement, with a lawyer also demanding answers regarding this foreknowledge and a video of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić raising questions.
