Severe weather has once again struck Crete, causing widespread destruction across the island. Reports indicate major damage to properties and infrastructure in areas such as Zonianá and Ierapetra, with a "biblical catastrophe" unfolding and eight individuals trapped in the Samaria Gorge, while bad weather persists in Crete and the Dodecanese.
In other significant domestic news, Greece announced a plan to erase 12.84 billion euros of debt, aiming to conclude its first memorandum by 2029, marking the largest early repayment of loans since 2019. The investigation into the death of singer Giorgos Mazonakis saw new developments with a hypnotherapist providing testimony detailing treatments and communications related to the case.
