In Tirana, a new report highlights significant urban development concerns as the Youth Park is increasingly overshadowed by new construction, symbolizing a peak in the city's urban destruction. This comes as citizens continue their anti-government protests, marking the 130th day of a revolt demanding the Prime Minister's resignation.
On the economic front, the Transparency Board has decided to lower oil prices by 3 Lekë per liter, effective today. Concurrently, Prime Minister Edi Rama announced that the 2027 budget is projected to reach a record 10 billion euros. Meanwhile, two separate explosion incidents were reported, one damaging a home in Elbasan and another seriously injuring a 75-year-old woman in Roskovec.
Legislatively, the Territorial Reform has been officially passed with the votes of the Socialist Party. However, a draft of the Penal Procedure Code is drawing criticism for potentially introducing a 'pre-censorship' regime for the media and risking the 'sterilization' of SPAK.
