Ukraine experienced a widespread and deadly missile attack today, with at least 11 people killed and numerous others injured across 12 regions. Residential buildings in cities like Kyiv, Pryluky, and Kremenchuk were struck, and critical energy infrastructure was targeted in what President Volodymyr Zelenskyy described as one of the most 'vile' attacks, coinciding with Russian President Vladimir Putin's birthday.
Ukrainian air defense systems reportedly neutralized 161 enemy targets during the assault, though 18 locations sustained direct hits. An unexploded Russian ballistic missile was discovered among residential buildings in Kyiv, requiring neutralization efforts. Separately, Ukrainian electronic warfare systems successfully jammed two Russian ballistic missiles aimed at a government facility in the capital, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Amidst the ongoing conflict, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) issued a warning about a potential Russian plan to extend attacks to bridges beyond Kyiv. Domestically, Ukraine has introduced four preferential programs to support businesses in enhancing their energy resilience, covering generators, solar stations, and cogeneration, reflecting efforts to strengthen energy security.
