Milorad Dodik, who was recently banned from holding political office, is now reportedly wishing to be forgotten by former US President Donald Trump, a significant reversal from his previous stance of seeking Trump's recognition. This development comes as U.S. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries condemned lobbying efforts on Dodik's behalf, calling them "shameless" and "malicious schemes". Further political intrigue surrounds Christian Schmidt, the former High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina, with speculation rising about whether he might become an advisor to Dodik after concluding his official mandate.
The European Commission has intensified pressure on Bosnia and Herzegovina, issuing a final warning that the country risks losing €373.9 million from the EU's Growth Plan if post-election reforms are not urgently continued. This financial warning coincides with ongoing discussions regarding the formation of new governments at both the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and state Council of Ministers levels. Meanwhile, the Srebrenica Memorial Center has criticized institutions for organizing a state commemoration for convicted war criminal Biljana Plavšić, stating that such figures should not be glorified.
In other domestic news, a representative of SBiH in the Sarajevo Canton Assembly, Lejla Zvizdić, has alleged an attempt to bribe her, criticizing the political maneuver. Additionally, Ramiz Salkić, a member of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, stated that Bosniaks will not be able to exercise veto power in the RS National Assembly due to having only four delegates in the People's Council. A fire at a landfill in Livno also caused damage to a local cemetery.
