Economic crime unit warns criminal networks have infiltrated industries

Økokrim, the national economic crime unit, reports that criminal networks have established themselves in several domestic industries. Investigators raised particular alarm over the taxi sector, which they say is being used to move narcotics, launder money, and facilitate welfare fraud.

The government has proposed cutting postal services by 24 percent, which would reduce letter delivery to a single day a week starting in 2027. The plan could lead to 2,000 job losses. Separately, former TV 2 footballer Fredrik Gulsvik was sentenced to over nine years in prison.

A school that received 18 warnings over two years regarding its bullying record will now be fined 25,000 NOK every month. Elsewhere, a former army chief described recent government spending on civil preparedness as mere 'number juggling' designed to satisfy officials in Washington.
