Cyberattack disrupts supermarket systems

A cybersecurity incident has forced a supermarket chain to take its systems offline as a precautionary measure. The Albert Heijn website and app are unreachable, distribution centers are disrupted, and shelves are thinning out as the company searches for the hacker.

The International Monetary Fund has raised its growth forecast for the domestic economy to 1.5 percent. Health Minister Sophie Hermans has abandoned a trial of new echo technology after thirteen weeks of erroneous results, while the reporting center for domestic violence says it is now too overwhelmed to keep up with its workload.

Property buyers will be eligible for state-guaranteed mortgages on homes worth up to 500,000 euros from next year. Elsewhere, supervisors warned that the new Environmental Act has made it harder to actually see what is happening on the ground, suggesting that regulations may be less well-observed than before.
