President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has indicated for the first time a willingness to discuss security guarantees for Russia once the war concludes. This development comes as Ukraine also prepares for a "risky step" regarding Donbas, with conditions for this action now disclosed by representatives of the President.
Meanwhile, a localized ceasefire in Oleshky has held for 54 hours, allowing a Ukrainian delegation, including Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets, to depart for the area to oversee humanitarian aid delivery and evacuations. This sustained truce is viewed as a potential precursor for a wider peace agreement.
In other news, Poland has confirmed its decision to transfer two fighter jets to Ukraine. On the domestic front, Russian forces conducted new strikes on Zaporizhzhia and Odesa, with a drone hitting a municipal bus in Zaporizhzhia, injuring four. Ukraine also faced attacks from 112 Russian drones. Updates on the energy situation include power restoration in Konotop, though the mayor remains cautious, and emergency outages in parts of Kyiv.
