Moldovan authorities closed airspace in the northern and central parts of the country today after multiple unauthorized drones were detected. Two separate drone incidents were reported, with both aerial vehicles eventually departing Moldovan territory.
Simultaneously, local elections are taking place in seven localities across the country, where voters are deciding on mayoral positions, a new council, and a referendum. Amid these elections, the Central Election Commission announced it would not be using digital identity cards for voter identification, a decision made in the aftermath of a recent cyberattack.
Other domestic developments include a new regulation making daytime headlights mandatory for drivers starting today, and the National Social Insurance Fund commencing November pension and social benefit payments. The government also denied reports that the electronic signature system had been compromised.
