Russian forces have reportedly exploited a declared "ceasefire" around Oleshky in the Kherson region, using the period to conduct troop rotations, deliver ammunition, and strengthen their military positions. Sky News footage indicated Russian movement of equipment and personnel into Oleshky during this "silence" period. Following the expiration of the ceasefire, a hospital in Kherson was attacked by a Russian drone.
Separately, new Russian attacks have caused casualties and damage in other areas. Guided aerial bombs struck Izyum in the Kharkiv region, killing one person and wounding several. Seven communities in the Zhytomyr region were shelled, injuring a child. Kyiv also experienced a significant power outage, leading to disruptions in public transport and traffic congestion.
On the diplomatic front, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has expressed readiness to meet with Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin in Turkey to discuss ending the war. Meanwhile, a unique operation successfully evacuated residents from occupied Oleshky, with many expressing emotional relief upon reaching Ukrainian-controlled territory. Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate also revealed details about a new Russian drone, the 'Gerbera-2', which it states poses a threat beyond Ukraine.
