A case involving a reported arms theft in Gjakova has taken a turn for the circular as authorities arrested the owner of the 'Tactical Depo' on suspicion of staging the robbery himself. The arrest follows an investigation into the initial report filed on October 30.
Police also dismantled an international heroin trafficking ring, seizing 37 kilograms of the drug with an estimated value in the millions. These successes in law enforcement coincide with a busy afternoon for Prime Minister Albin Kurti, who is scheduled to receive the European Union’s latest Progress Report from the EU Ambassador. Outside the report, the government is currently facing domestic criticism as 643 million euros in capital investment funds remain unspent.
The European Union is also looking for movement on the diplomatic front, stating it expects 'constructive engagement' from the winner of the Serbian elections in the ongoing dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade.
