International pressure is intensifying on Milorad Dodik, leader of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD), with statements from Sven Alkalaj indicating that Democrats in the United States will pursue new sanctions against him, and that former President Donald Trump is not expected to obstruct these measures. Mujanović echoed this sentiment, stating that sanctions are a matter of 'when, not if' and could soon be considered by the US Congress.
Adding to the pressure, Hungary has halted a previously agreed-upon aid program with Milorad Dodik, ending Hungarian subsidies for Republika Srpska. This development comes as Zlatko Lagumdžija and Elmedin Konaković, Minister of Foreign Affairs, criticized Dodik's lobbying efforts, asserting that no amount of money can convince Washington that he supports Western values.
