Police arrest 26 in large-scale drug raid

Police arrested 26 people in a large-scale operation codenamed 'Plegma' following a significant drug seizure that resulted in the recovery of assets worth €500,000. In a separate operation, authorities also discovered weapons, narcotics, and a significant amount of cash, signaling a major crackdown on organized crime.

Education support staff marched to the presidential palace, demanding the government fulfill its promises regarding their income and the protection of their rights. While the workers protested, the Anti-Corruption Authority cleared ten individuals of wrongdoing, including a high-ranking official, following a complaint from a retired officer.

Negotiators are reportedly nearing a formula for new checkpoints, shifting the focus to Tsakkistras as intensive contacts continue. This diplomatic movement coincides with AKEL attacking the government’s proximity to the far-right ELAM, aiming to attract centrist voters.
