Bosnia and Herzegovina is mourning the tragic loss of five of its alpinists on Mount Elbrus. Two other climbers survived the incident, with one descending to notify rescuers. The five deceased mountaineers were all confirmed to be from Zenica, prompting a large-scale rescue operation and a response from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Elmedin Konaković, who is in contact with the BiH Embassy in Moscow regarding the tragedy and the challenging evacuation of bodies due to adverse weather conditions.
In other domestic news, Tarik Prusac, a suspect accused of murdering his wife, committed suicide while in custody at the Igman Correctional Facility. Meanwhile, the director of Sarajevo's public utility company 'Rad' addressed concerns over a recent increase in parking prices, stating the goal is to cover operational costs rather than burden citizens.
On a positive note, a scientific expedition in a Herzegovinian cave has led to the remarkable discovery of 37 new animal species, previously unseen anywhere else in the world.
