Prime Minister Andrej Plenković visited Gospić to address the long-standing issue of illegal waste disposal in the Lika region, where 33,000 tons of buried ash are a major concern. Despite the presence of several ministers, local residents and citizens' initiatives boycotted the meeting, expressing skepticism about the government's intentions and planning a larger protest in Zagreb. Plenković assured the public about the safety of drinking water and promised accelerated cleanup efforts.

Meanwhile, a separate tragic incident saw a second elderly woman die from the 'house of horrors' in Korenica, leading to the lifting of preventative measures for a former Prime Minister's advisor, Dolores Mijatović.
