Energy partners clash over threefold increase in pipeline fees

A reported decision to triple transit fees for the Aphrodite gas field has created a rift between the government and its commercial partners. The dispute arrives at an awkward moment for a project already facing a long wait for a final investment decision, which is not expected until 2027.

The European Public Prosecutor’s Office has uncovered four local businessmen as the alleged masterminds of a €115 million fraud scheme involving iPhones operating from offices on the island. Back on the road, an 18-year-old motorcyclist is in serious condition after a collision with a bus that sent him into a house wall.

Diplomacy remains focused on the sea as the European Council offered its formal backing to the Amalthea corridor, the maritime route intended to move aid to Gaza. While Brussels has given its approval, the project still requires Israel to grant unimpeded access.
